How to Fix the Selected Volume Cannot Be Extended on Dynamic Disk


If you are a Window XP/Windows Server 2003 user, you should know that you cannot extend volume on basic disk, because there is no such feature offered in Disk Management. However, by converting the hard drive to dynamic disk, you see there is a feature called “Extend Volume” by right-clicking on a dynamic volume. Then, you get into the extend volume wizard, but fortunately, you are likely to receive the following error message:
“The selected volume is a system or a boot disk or was created on basic disk in an earlier version of windows and cannot be extended.”
