What is Cloud Computing?

There are three models of cloud hosting that can meet the specific needs of businesses. They represent what is called a "cloud computing stack". Users can access it from different interfaces.

SaaS: The lever of your digital transformation
An alternative to traditional software deployment, Software as a Service is certainly the best known of the three services. It allows companies to use multiple applications accessible online. It accelerates the integration of collaborative work thanks to tools offered by Google (Google Apps) or Microsoft (Office 365). CRM (Salesforce), ERP (Infor, NetSuite, Workday ...) and solutions for human resources (SuccessFactors, Talensoft, Cornerstone), finances (Adaptive Insight), project management (Clarizen, BaseCamp, Slack) are also available in SaaS mode.

This model presents two major interests. First, it can be accessed through different interfaces: thin clients (the most common is Citrix), web browser, smartphones ... With a mobile ERP, an employee can remotely view a product catalog, inventory status or delivery times. Thus, traveling employees benefit from the same level of information as those who stayed at the office.

Secondly, customers do not have to worry about maintenance of infrastructure and resources (software updates and operating systems) since this is done by SaaS providers.

The downside, the company has no control over the infrastructure underlying the software application (operating system, computer equipment and network).
