Toshiba Memory Expands NVMe SSD Portfolio for Cloud Data Centers


Toshiba Memory, a company of making NAND flash memory chips, solid-state drives (SSDs) and more, has recently announced its XD5 series NVMe SSD platform in a 2.5-inch and 7mm low-profile form factor is available.

The new Toshiba 2.5’’ XD5 NVMe SSD is optimized for low-latency and performance consistency in read-intensive workloads. And this new drive is developed for both data center and cloud environments, which is ideal for large-scale-out data mining and analysis, NoSQL databases and streaming applications.

Besides, the XD5 series solid-state drive is also fairly suitable for OCP (Open Compute Project) applications and systems.
