New Android Content Transfer Feature in Your Phone App

Recently, Microsoft hasn’t made another Windows phone. However, it has some improvements in other respects. For example, it has dug a way to make it to be presented in the smartphone space felt even without its own mobile operating system (OS).

The Android apps from Microsoft act very well in Play Store. The Your Phone app in Windows 10 is an excellent example. This Your Phone app for Android and Windows can help you receive calls, send messages, and browse your phone photos. Besides, you can also use it to mirror your phone’s screen to your desktop computer.

In the beginning, the Your Phone app was just used to do a simple work: viewing the photos that were saved to your Android phone on your desktop without a USB cable.

As time goes on, Microsoft adds more attractive new features to this app and it seems that Microsoft is going to add more useful features to meet your advanced requirements.

In January, Microsoft has reported that it is working on a new Android content transfer feature for Your Phone app. With this new feature, you can even copy and paste content across different devices.

Microsoft has posted a support document that shows some useful information like which devices support cross-device copy and paste, how can I copy and paste between my phone and PC, what can I copy and paste between my phone and PC, etc.

This document indirectly confirms that the new content transfer feature exists in Your Phone app and it is currently available on the specified hardware only. Although Microsoft reports that this new Android content transfer will allow you to copy and paste the text files and images across devices, images that are larger than 1MB might lose the original size.

Till now, Microsoft is only planning to add this new Android content transfer feature on Galaxy S20, S20+, S20+ Ulta and Galaxy Z Flip. This is good news for these users. But, it is quite possible that this new feature will be unlocked after a future update is released.

This new feature is disabled by default. You need to turn it on manually before you want to use it to copy and paste contents across devices.
