Fix “These Files Might Be Harmful to Your Computer” Error


In Windows 10, you can put your home and office PCs on network sharing resources between them. One common setting is to use the PC’s IP address to map a network drive to your PC. However, when you try to transfer files from the network location to the local drives, the warning message appears, saying:

“These files might be harmful to your computer. Your Internet security settings suggest that one or more files may be harmful. Do you want to use it anyway? ”

If you click OK, this can dismiss the warning and you can continue with the transfer. For occasional file transfer, this warning is not a major issue. However, it is really annoying if you often transfer files between your network drive and local PC since you have to turn off this warning every time.
