Two Amazing Family Experiences in Edinburgh

There is no denying that Scotland is one of the most popular vacation locations within the United Kingdom, and a great place to get away from the hustle and bustle of reality. The lush green countryside, dotted with historical castles, make it the perfect place for locals and tourists alike, to relax and enjoy some Scottish tradition. Scotland has so much more to offer than just a picturesque place to put your feet up and enjoy some world-class whiskey, with an almost endless list of fantastic places to visit, and histories to uncover.
Edinburgh, the beautiful capital of Scotland, is the perfect place for the vacation to begin, with the city offering a great deal for every member of the family.

Family vacations provide the perfect opportunity for family bonding, and thus, choosing the ideal accommodation is key. Hotels are great, but they seem to take away from that cosy feeling of a family home. Luckily there are a large number of quaint cottages spread across the city that will provide you with that perfect Scottish housetrip experience.

When it comes to must-see places around Edinburgh that are fun for the whole family, the main two that come to mind are definitely the Edinburgh Castle, as well as the crazy Camera Obscura and World of Illusions tower.

I don’t think I have ever met a child that doesn’t get excited at the thought of visiting a real life castle, and as castles go, the Edinburgh one definitely delivers. Thanks to the fact that this historic fortress was built upon an extinct volcano, visitors are blessed with unbelievable 360 degree views of the city below. Housed within the fortress is the beautiful Scottish Crown Jewels, as well as the land’s most prized treasure, the fascinating Stone of Destiney.

Bakers raise money for breast cancer charity

Employees at air traffic control company NATS swapped radars for cupcakes on Thursday in aid of breast cancer charity, The Haven.

The Haven is a UK charity that offers a wide range of emotional, physical and practical support to people affected by breast cancer. It is currently raising money in order to open a brand new support centre in Titchfield, Hampshire, this autumn.

Talented amateur bakers from across NATS’ HQ in Fareham were encouraged to submit their creations in a Great British Bake Off style competition, with the cakes then available for hungry employees to buy.

Claire Burton, NATS Talent Acquisition Manager from Hedge End, was crowned master baker for her five layered lemon drizzle cake with spectacular chocolate decoration.
